Hazardous Overtaking by Cyclists
The Problem:
- The following series of video clips was taken with a video camera clipped to the back of a pedestrians band cap.
- Each morning, this pedestrian walks with his service dog, Zuzu, along South Collier Boulevard.
- Almost every morning and often multiple times during a ~1.5 mi walk a biker overtakes and passes without providing an audible alert.
- Note:
- the street sounds and footsteps of the pedestrian can be heard
- there is NO audible warning that the bicyclist is about to overtake the pedestrian.
